The Architecture and Emerging Awards are granted to a specific built work of architecture.
They acknowledge the achievements of European architects and clients in the development of new concepts and technologies and provide citizens as well as public institutions with the opportunity to reach a better understanding of the importance of architecture in the construction of sustainable and inclusive cities and communities where the essential relationship between the quality of life and the quality of the environment is a key priority.
The Architecture winner receives 60.000€ and a sculpture by Xavier Corberó, inspired by the Barcelona Pavilion. The clients and the four finalists receive a sculpture designed by Tomoko Sakamoto and David Lorente.
The Emerging winner is granted to a built work of architecture in the context of a broader critical approach to architecture by a young architecture practice and which acknowledges the same achievements as the architecture category. The Winner receives 20.000€ and a sculpture by Xavier Corberó, inspired by the Barcelona Pavilion. The client receives a sculpture designed by Tomoko Sakamoto and David Lorente.
