Dublin talk and reception
New European Bauhaus Values: Sustainability, Inclusion and Aesthetics
Goethe-Institut Irland, 37 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, 17:00 – 19:30
To mark the award of the EU Mies Award 2022 to Grafton Architects, the European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland and the European Commission Representation in Ireland organise a discussion with Grafton Architects’ founding partners Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, followed by a reception.
The conversation centred on the New European Bauhaus (NEB), a creative and interdisciplinary initiative that connects the European Green Deal to our living spaces and experiences. It calls on all of us to imagine and build together a sustainable and inclusive future that is inspired by art and culture, responding to needs beyond functionality.
Guests also had the chance to watch the film Places for People, which revealed “the vision of the Irish national policy on architecture and speaks to the values of the NEB – the importance of a culture of architecture and how a high quality built environment can benefit people, nature and planet.”
