A home, a school, a museum, a neighbourhood
In the context of the UIA Congress and Copenhagen as World Capital of Architecture, this exhibition is presented at the Danish Architecture Center,
We walk through our cities and villages and see and enjoy buildings, plazas, and parks. We feel different in each street and house. We remember our school and see people enjoying themselves with friends in our neighbourhoods and their cultural centres. The way we feel in each place has to do with the decisions that architects take together with those that live there and many other people that participate in the construction of architecture. The EUmies Awards reward those places that allow us to live better and think towards the future such as the homes, schools, museums, and neighbourhoods that we find in this exhibition.
A housing cooperative in Barcelona, and a group of social housing around a courtyard in Cornellà de Llobregat; a new building that provides study and leisure space for university students open 24h in London, and a transformed school in Turin; a museum as a fragment of Hasselt’s city centre conceived as a house for art; a large horizontal building that functions as a neighbourhood in the heart of Berlin and a place to grow vegetables and create a meeting place for neighbours in the city of Paris. These are the seven projects that the jury of the EUmies Awards 2022 selected as finalist and winning works and you will find in this hall.
