“Trees, squares and houses”
On June 4, the first round table of the cycle “EUmies Awards 2024 Dialogues” takes palce. It brings conversations between authors of works selected for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards in the framework of the Barcelona Architecture Weeks and with the support of USM Modular Furniture.
The round table “Trees, places and houses“, moderated by architect Ariadna Perich, brings together the Catalan studios AV62 Arquitectos, HARQUITECTES, MAIO and Peris+Toral Arquitectes with the participation of Toño Foraster, Roger Tudó, Maria Charneco and José Toral. They will present their works shortlisted for the EUmies Awards 2024, and discuss the challenges of sustainability in architecture, a fundamental aspect in the conception of their works. The dialogue will take place in the same space that hosts the EUmies Awards 2024 exhibition: Palau Victòria Eugènia.
Come and learn, directly from the authors, how architectural studios work on various aspects to ensure that buildings and urban spaces are socially fair, environmentally friendly and economically viable and get to know their work with the videos and models of the EUmies Awards 2024 exhibition.

The project consists of a new day care center for young people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in Derio, Bizkaia.

The volumetric organization of this project encourages the biological and recreational continuity between the Serra de les Ferreres zone and the Llobregat Agricultural Park in Gavà, Catalonia, complementing the longitudinal circulation with new transversal links that facilitate access to the block.

The proposal is an ephemeral structure that hosts a tree nursery and spaces for public discussions around the use of public space and its relation with greenery. After its temporal life-cycle, the trees will be planted around the City according to citizens’ demands.
