Exhibition, Maltfabriken, Ebeltoft
The exhibition of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Awards 2022, which opened in Barcelona and has already toured Cologne, Brussels, Vienna and London, now stops in Ebeltoft, Denmark.
This is another special occasion as the exhibition takes place in the Maltfabrikken, which was selected by the jury among the 40 most important works. The original malt factory was built in 1861 and was transformed into a cultural centre by Praksis, VMB restoration Architects and Kirstine Jensen Landscape Architecture with the collaboration of artist Morten Skovmand and engineers Henry Jensen. The town of 7,500 inhabitants now has a new hub that is constantly active and attracts people from all over the country.
The exhibition has been adapted to the unique spaces of the former factory and presents models, videos, photographs and texts. You will get to know this unique building in detail, together with the winners, finalists and works selected by the jury as representing the best European architecture of recent years.
