EUmies Awards 2026 Winners at CAMP Praha
As part of the Urban Talks programme at CAMP Praha, the winners of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – EUmies Awards 2026 presented their projects and shared their approaches to some of the key challenges facing architecture today.
Jan De Vylder, representing AgwA and architecten jan de vylder inge vinck, introduced the transformation of the Charleroi Palais des Expositions, winner of the EUmies Awards 2026. The project demonstrates how existing buildings can be reactivated through careful subtraction, re-use and adaptation rather than replacement.
Jure Grohar, from Vidic Grohar Arhitekti, presented the Temporary Spaces for the Slovenian National Theatre Drama, recipient of the Emerging Winner Award. The project explores how temporary architecture can provide meaningful and fully functional spaces for cultural institutions during periods of transformation.
Moderated by Jiří Jaroš, the discussion highlighted how both projects offer innovative responses to contemporary challenges while demonstrating architecture’s capacity to work with existing resources, embrace change and create long-term cultural value.
