Following the EUmies Awards exhibition presented in Gdańsk during the recent EDAP/ECAP meeting, we are pleased to announce its extended run in the city throughout the summer and autumn of 2025.
The Office of the City Architect of Gdańsk, in collaboration with the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Creative Europe, invites all architecture enthusiasts, professionals, students, and members of the public to visit the EUmies Awards 2024 exhibition – European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards.
This exhibition showcases the 40 best contemporary architectural works built across Europe in the last two years. These projects were selected through a rigorous process involving nominations from over 100 independent experts, national architecture associations, and the EUmies Awards jury. Together, they represent a diverse and rich panorama of European architectural practice today, covering a range of building types, contexts, and social challenges.
The exhibition aims not only to celebrate excellence in architecture but also to foster public debate and critical reflection on the role of design in shaping our shared environment. By presenting these exemplary works, the EUmies Awards highlight themes such as sustainability, cultural heritage, social inclusion, innovation, and quality of life.
From July until the end of August 2025, visitors can see the exhibition at the historic St. George Brotherhood House (Dwór Bractwa św. Jerzego), which also serves as the headquarters of the SARP Wybrzeże Branch (Association of Polish Architects, Wybrzeże Division). This unique setting offers a fitting architectural context for reflecting on the role of design in both past and present.
In October 2024, the exhibition will move to Gdańsk University of Technology, where it will be accessible to students, researchers, and the broader academic community, further encouraging dialogue about architecture’s role in addressing contemporary challenges.
Admission to the exhibition is free of charge. A free printed guide with Polish translations of all project descriptions will be available on-site, making the content accessible to all visitors.
We encourage everyone interested in architecture, urban planning, sustainability, and design to take advantage of this opportunity to discover and discuss some of the most inspiring new works built across Europe.
