Revitalization of Prague riverfront area is Prague’s largest investment in public space of post-totalitarian era after the 1989 Velvet revolution, the first of its kind and sociocultural impact. It brings life to the public space and 20 vaults in the riverside wall serving as cafes, workshops, galleries, space for neighbor meetings and public toilets.

The Tikkurila Church, the Bethania apartments and the student housing form one unity with a diversity of functions. The church contains a cafe and a kids corner open to the public as well as meeting spaces and offices for social services. The rental units and student housing are complemented with shared facilities and retail spaces that enliven the block.

The project densifies a fragmented neighborhood in central Bucharest. It works with local dwelling typologies, in an attempt to preserve the flavour of small corners, courtyards, gardens, long narrow houses which all used to fill the old center of Bucharest, and which are quickly disappearing under a fast and mostly uncontrolled development process.

Dexamenes date back to the early 1900s, when the concrete tanks were built on the coastline, for wine fermentation and export overseas. The conversion of the site into a hotel intended to highlight its brutality with interventions in a complimentary palette, showcasing the raw beauty of the existing buildings leaving them relatively untouched.

A ‘big-box’ protective enclosure is installed over Mackintosh’s residential masterpiece Hill House, whilst it is slowly brought back to life from almost 120 years of weathering and decay. The Melopee School represents the only public building in this part of O.M.A.’s masterplan for the ‘Oude Dokken’ in Ghent. It is composed by a compact main building hosting a school, a public sports hall and a nursery and a large open pergola with stacked playgrounds. The two parts are linked by a steel structure.
